After three years’ absence, classical music is back in the heart of Croydon. The LMP’s 2019/20 season at Fairfield Halls launches with a magnificent gala concert to mark the Halls’ reopening on Wednesday 18th September. The Phoenix Concert Hall welcomes the LMP and not one, but four, guest conductors, performing some of the best loved masterpieces of the classical repertoire – including Mozart of course!

Blending Christmas carols with drama, this brand-new adaptation of Dickens’ seasonal morality tale by actor Tama Matheson features music from LMP and Trinity Chamber Choir.

In ‘A Concert Extraordinaire’, LMP brings Gallic charm to Croydon in a concert of French classics, including Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No.1 performed by 2016 BBC Young Musician Sheku Kanneh-Mason.

The international Classical guitarist joins LMP to perform Rodrigo’s adored Concerto de Aranjuez, with LMP continuing the continental theme with Mozart’s ‘Linz’ Symphony (No.36) & Mendelssohn’s Italian Symphony (No.4).

Young British star and saxophone sensation Jess Gillam brings all her virtuosity and vitality to Fairfield, performing Glazunov and Nyman alongside LMP favourites Mozart and Haydn.
London Mozart Players, the UK’s longest established orchestra, is delighted to be back at Fairfield Halls in 2019, celebrating not only its 70th birthday but its 30th year as Croydon’s resident orchestra. Building on its incredible history, the orchestra will bring to Fairfield a wide range of concerts designed to appeal to music lovers of all ages – whether its classical favourites or modern masterpieces.
