London Mozart Players are looking for a brilliant Orchestral Manager to take over the booking of musicians and organisation of all LMP’s concerts, rehearsals and recordings. The chosen candidate will be a highly-capable, reliable, confident person with excellent communication skills and demonstrable experience and knowledge working in the classical music industry in a similar role.
About the London Mozart Players
The London Mozart Players is one of the busiest freelance chamber orchestras in the UK with over 100 days work per year. We are Britain’s longest established chamber orchestra and this year have celebrated our 70th anniversary. Throughout its long history, the orchestra has delivered inspiring concerts both across the UK and globally, performing not only the core classical repertoire of Mozart and Haydn, but diverse and far-reaching programmes to new and existing audiences.
In 2014 the orchestra became player-led, both in management and artistically. In this time, the LMP have flourished, with an ever-increasing schedule of events and engagements, and an exciting programme of own-promotion concerts. This season has included an acclaimed ‘Explored’ lunchtime concert series at St John’s Smith Square with Howard Shelley, a return to the SouthBank centre and the newly refurbished Fairfield Halls, as well as a series of own promotion concerts at our resident home St John the Evangelist. Our ground breaking residency in our home in Upper Norwood has redefined what an orchestra can bring to a community, seen new investment from both the Arts Council and from Croydon Council, and has expanded its work with the young, disadvantaged, and newcomers to classical music through new innovative concert series and community programmes.
It is vital that all team members understand our unique vision and future ambition for the orchestra.
