Our Work in Schools
With music and arts provision in schools continuing to decline, giving more children and young people the chance to play an instrument and be surrounded by creative role models has never been more important.
With music and arts provision in schools continuing to decline, giving more children and young people the chance to play an instrument and be surrounded by creative role models has never been more important.
For 30 years the LMP has been working in collaboration with primary schools across the country, leading exciting projects that introduce younger children to Classical instruments in a fun and interactive way. We run tailored workshops, concert demonstrations and bespoke projects that inspire creativity and get younger children involved in performing, allowing those who don’t normally play to take part.
As professional musicians, LMP members are uniquely placed to enhance the study of performance, and in particular ensemble work. Even if the majority of young people do not go on to study music or continue to play their instrument, there are many skills and attributes that are developed through ensemble playing that will serve them throughout their studies and professional lives and open the door to a lifetime of joy to be found in engaging with Classical Music.
Our secondary school projects are designed to enhance existing musical provision and offer students exclusive masterclasses, performance workshops, composition and academic projects and chamber coaching from our talented musicians. Our visits and projects are completely bespoke and tailored to your needs.
